Approved Service - Service Description

This Grant of Approval relates to the CitizenSafe® IdP service provided by GBG.

The service is provided by the GBG IDA platform; this is GBG’s proprietary ID Assurance platform, known as CitizenSafe®, which is utilised for the purpose of validating and verifying a citizen’s identity and that the citizen’s credentials are accurate.

The service is available for use within public sector on-line services by providing an interoperable and robust credential that citizens can use to authenticate themselves.

Users will have their real life identity verified as part of the registration process. Registration and management of their credential is via an on-line portal. GBG is using this service to support the GOV.UK Verify programme and was awarded a contract to become an IdP under the CitizenSafe® brand allowing its use for accessing government services. In this regard it meets all criteria set out by HMG.
