Approved Service - Service Description
The subject service of this Grant of Approval is the Identity Provider service for Verify from Digidentity BV.
Digidentity provides you with the opportunity to securely and easily identify yourself online to the Government and organisations, with one set of credentials. By using Digidentity you get an online personal vault. You are the only person who has access to that vault, not even our staff has access. So, Digidentity has millions of digital vaults but our users are the only ones with the keys needed to open them.
The vault is opened by providing your credentials. These credentials consist of a username and password, and depending on the level of assurance, a second factor authentication. This second factor can be a One Time Password (OTP) through a text message, or by using the Digidentity authenticator mobile app.
When you see the Digidentity logo on a website, you can click on it and you get the option to log on or register. If you don't have an account, you can get one registering online. You will be asked to select a username and password and provide us with your email address. If you like, you can read the Terms and Conditions applicable to the service before actually registering. After agreeing to the terms, you are asked to provide some personal details. These details are for example, your name, address, date of birth and gender.
You can use the account to prove who you are when you’re online. In order to do so, we need to check the information you’ve provided by carrying out an identity check. For example, we will ask you to provide an ID document through the mobile app, or you’ll be asked a few questions to prove you are who you say you are. We don’t want anyone claiming your identity and pretend they are you.
After we’ve verified your identity you’re all set. You will receive an Account Recovery Code (ARC). You’ll need that key if you’ve lost access to your account.
In case you’ve lost your credentials, just go to our website and click on ‘recover account’. Be sure to have the ARC, you’ll need it to recover access.
If you would like to change the details in your account, you can do so by logging on through our website. We will notify you of all changes made to your account by sending an email. Most of the details you change or add will trigger us to check that information. For example, if you change your mobile number we will send you a text message to that number to verify you actually have access to that phone number.
Now you have registered, you will be transferred back to the website where it all began. From now on, you can just click on the Digidentity logo on a website and login. We will confirm your identity with the organisation.
